Online presentation of the program

The Barrande Fellowship Program offers scholarships for 2021 to support “cotutelles” (double-degree PhD) and short-term research stays. Students have to be registered either at a Czech University (for mobilities to France) or at a French University (for mobilities to the Czech Republic).

The scholarship-holder in "cotutelle" program undertakes a 5-month stay in France or in the Czech Republic every year for a maximum of 3 years. The program offers also grants to Ph.D. candidates for a short-term research stay (between 1 and 3 months).

All scientific fields are welcome.

If you are interested, you will find all information about the program and how to apply on the French Institute in Prague’s website: https://studium.ifp.cz/fr/etudiants-1/doctorants-1/

  • Be a holder of a higher education diploma (Ing., Mgr. or MgA.) before their first stay abroad;
  • Be registered at a Czech university, for a research stay in France, and at a French university, for a research stay in the Czech Republic.
  • Note on language requirements: the program is open to all English speakers on the condition that the French or Czech supervisor from the foreign institution agrees with English as the language used during the stay.

online presentation of the program

Two online events to present the programme have been organised. They are available online until 26 February 2021:

The video recordings of the events will allow you to learn more about higher education and research in the Czech Republic and in France, the funding program, its objectives, how to apply, and will also allow you to listen to program's alumni talking about their experience and to have access to the Q&A sessions of both events.

Deadline for application: 26 February 2021

All information on the program and the application process can be found in the application guidelines (for a co-tutelle project and for a short research stay) accessible on the French Institute in Prague website: https://studium.ifp.cz/fr/etudiants-1/doctorants-1/
