Call for projects of the Maison Universitaire Franco-Mexicaine 2023
The Maison Universitaire Franco-Mexicaine (MUFRAMEX) has launched a call for projects aimed at supporting researchers and PhD candidates working on topic related to Mexico. Application deadlines are between June and July 2023.

La Maison Universitaire Franco-Mexicaine (MUFRAMEX) is a bilateral institution serving academic and scientific co-operation between France and Mexico. It is placed under the dual supervision of the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research (MESR) and its Mexican counterpart, the Secretaría de Educación Pública (SEP), administratively attached to the University of Toulouse.
1. Support for doctoral research (IdA - MUFRAMEX)
As part of its policy of encouraging research on Mexico, MUFRAMEX, in partnership with the Institut des Amériques (IdA), is launching a call for projects for PhD candidates working on topics specifically related to Mexico.
Terms and Conditions:
- Funding to carry out field work in the Americas or, in exceptional cases, research in European archives.
- Funding of up to €1,200 in the 2024 calendar year.
- Special consideration is given to doctoral students in the second year of their dissertation who are planning a research stay in one of the 12 international poles of the IdA.

2. Call for the France-Mexico Research Network - Support for the publication of scientific papers, 2023.
In order to encourage the dissemination and visibility of the work of the members of the France-Mexico Research Network, MUFRAMEX offers support for the publication of scientific works (original or translations).
Terms and Conditions:
- All disciplines and themes are eligible
- The works must :
- Be original works, written in French or Spanish;
- Be individual or collective;
- Be of a scientific nature (essays will not be considered);
- Have Mexico as the main subject, or have a comparative approach between France and Mexico, or be the result of a scientific collaboration or a Franco-Mexican research program.
- Funding of up to €3000, awarded at the beginning of the 2023 academic year.

3. Support to organize scientific events 2024 (IdA)
As part of its policy of encouraging research in the Americas, the Institut des Amériques (IdA) is launching a call for proposals for the financing of seminars, study days, conferences and symposiums.
Terms and Conditions:
- The amount has to be between 500 and 3000 euros. The amount requested must be no more than 30% of the total event budget.
- The scientific activities have to take place from 1 January to 31 December 2024.
- Priority will be given to projects with an international dimension, allowing to bring together French and foreign researchers working with the Americas
