Alliance, the Franco-British programme to support researchers' mobility

Clarisse Faria-Fortecoëf

The objective is to support young teams to create new Franco-British co-operations of excellence.

The Alliance programme is run in France by the French Foreign Affairs Ministry and for British partners by the British Council.

Call for applications for projects starting in 2010 is now open. Deadline: June 9th, 2009.

It is open to research centers affiliated with an academic institution or a research institute. Projects between new collaborative partners from all scientific and technological disciplines are concerned, including the social sciences and the humanities. It is also open to researchers based on all French territories (including Dom-Tom) and all UK nations (England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland).
Projects will be led on both the French and UK side by early career researchers.
Please note that the involvement of young researchers studying for a PhD, or pursuing post-doctoral research, is an important selection criterion.
The financial support only covers mobility expenses of researchers between the two countries.

For more information about the program and how to apply:
- You are a French researcher, go to the EGIDE’s website, the agency in charge of the programme for French partners.
- You are a British researcher, please visit the British Council’s website where you can download the application form.
