Tournesol : The Franco-Belgian programme to support researchers' mobility

Clarisse Faria-Fortecoëf

The objective is to develop scientific and technological exchanges of excellence between research laboratories of both countries by promoting new co-operations.

Tournesol is the Hubert Curien Partnership (PHC) in place with the French community and the Flemish community of Belgium.
- In the first case, the program is implemented in Belgium by Wallonia Brussels International (WBI) and the National Fund for Scientific Research (FNRS) and in France by the Ministries of Foreign and European Affairs (MAEE) and Higher Education and Research (MESR) .
- In the second one, it is implemented in Belgium by the Flemish Ministry of Education and Training and the Fund for Scientific Research of Flanders (FWO).

Calls for application, issued on an annual basis, are open to research laboratories affiliated with academic institutions, research organizations or companies.
Projects in all areas of science are considered including Human and Social Sciences.

Active participation and mobility of young researchers, especially Phd students or post-doc, is one of the very first criteria of selection.

The financial support only covers mobility expenses of researchers between the two countries.

Deadline for application: 30 May, 2012.
