Sakura: The Franco-Japanese programme to support reserachers’ mobility

The objective is to foster new co-operations between young researchers and to develop scientific and technological exchanges of high quality between universities and research institutions of both countries. Application deadline : September 22, 2016.

Sakura programme is run in France by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Development (MAEDI) and the Ministry of National and Higher Education and Research (MENESR), and for Japanese partners by the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS).
Calls for application are open to research laboratories affiliated with academic institutions and research organizations or with public or private companies.
The participation of young researchers, Phd students or postdocs, is one of the very first criteria of selection.
All areas of science are concerned by the 2016 Call for proposals:
Funds granted by France (maximum €6,000 per year per project) on an annual basis, only cover the payment of subsistence allowances (€200/day) and travels of French researchers (reimbursement on actual costs per roundtrip France/Japan).
