Postgraduate scholarships in Ireland, 2nd call

Ireland offers postgraduate scholarships to fund 85 new entrant Masters or Doctorate level young researchers. The scheme is open to candidates worldwide.

The Irish Council for Science, Engineering and Technology (IRCSET) invites applicants for research funding under the second call of Government of Ireland's Embark Postgraduate Research Scholarship Scheme (2006).

Up to 250 (85 on 2nd call) individual scholarships are to be given to young researcher from all countries and all disciplinary fields. A hundred of these scholarships are co funded by industrial partners and three by, Sustainable Energy Ireland, Ireland’s national energy agency.

The financial support amounts to €24,003 for all kind of scholarships. However, researchers who will be co funded by a company will also receive additional supervision and gain experience of research in an industrial environment.

2nd call deadline for application : August 16, 2006 5:00 pm, through the online application system.
