Position and assignments

The University of Luxembourg invites applications for the following vacancy in the Department of Physics and Materials Science. The laboratory for photovoltaics has an opening for a Postdoc, starting early 2021. We are looking for a candidate with experience in electrical or optical characterisation of semiconductors and solar cells and/or chalcopyrite materials.

The Postdoc will be responsible for the optical or electrical characterisation of novel chalcopyrite absorber layers used in tandem solar cells, which have higher efficiencies. Together with the PI, the postdoc will take part in the growth and characterisation of the semiconducting layers and solar cells. He or she will be assisted by technical and administrative staff. The Postdoc is expected to act as part of the team of the laboratory for photovoltaics.

  • Optical characterization by photoluminescence spectroscopy or electrical characterization by admittance spectroscopy and temperature dependent current-voltage measurements
  • Data evaluation and modelling for defect analysis
  • Deposition of chalcopyrite semiconducting layers by co-evaporation
  • Presentation at international conferences, publications in high impact journals
