France-Brazil Programmes - COFECUB

The French Evaluation Committee of the academic cooperation with Brazil, COFECUB, evaluates and pilots cooperation programmes of research and training with Brazil.

Under this collaboration, agreements were signed with two Brazilian institutions: the CAPES (Coordenação de Aperfeiçoamento de Pessoal de Nível Superior), body of the Ministry of Education, and the USP (Universidade de São Paulo).
The purpose of these agreements is to perform joint scientific research programs in order to:
- develop new doctoral programs,
- foster the emergence of research teams of excellence,
- prepare PhDs,- organize post-doctoral training,
- exchange scientific information, documentation and academic publications.

Calls for applications are normally published each year.
Deadlines for:
- CAPES-COFECUB's projects: May 18th, 2011;
- USP-COFECUB's projects: June 1st, 2011.

In both cases, you must complete your application online .

These two programs represent a total of 134 projects and approximately 530 missions per year.
They concern various disciplines and have led to many scientific productions, including approximately 1500 Brazilian doctoral theses and 300 French ones.
