The Franco-Mexican College in Social Sciences

Clarisse Faria-Fortecoëf

The objective is to strengthen scientific cooperation between France, Mexico and Central America in particular by promoting the participation of scientists in public debates on topics such as Social Science Anthropology, Archaeology, History or Sociology.

Under the leadership of the Cultural and Cooperation Centre of the French Embassy, the Collège Franco-Mexicain en Sciences Sociales (Franco-Mexican College in Social Sciences) was created from the beginning with the aim to strengthen the academic and scientific cooperation between France and Mexico at different levels (teachers, researchers, students) and to develop joint research projects. Its origin dates back to the Franco-Mexican Chairs in Social Sciences, established since 1996 in many prestigious Mexican institutions.
The College ensures the continuity of these relationships and develops new forms of bilateral exchanges which include universities and research centers located in the area, by highlighting the support and the expansion of a doctoral network established between France and Mexico since June 2008.

Inaugurated in 2010, the College announced in 2011 College as part of a call of proposals, the integration of Central America in its Project.
