Fulbright-Tocqueville Distinguished Chair Award aims to reinforce collaborative research between the United States and France by giving a French university the opportunity to invite an American professor/researcher and give him/her the opportunity to meet French colleagues, to organize and participate in conferences, and to interact with French graduate and PhD candidates in their discipline. Application deadline: September 15, 2022.
In 2005, the Franco-American Fulbright Commission, in partnership with the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research and the US Department of State, created the Fulbright-Tocqueville Distinguished Chair Award in commemoration of Alexis de Tocqueville’s 200th birthday and Senator J. William Fulbright’s 100th birthday.
- Facilitating the administrative procedures related to the American grantee's stay (visa, residence permit, banking, children's schooling, housing and other practical aspects...) ;
- Providing the grantee with a welcome worthy of a leading personality;
- Make the presence of the grantee at the institution as widely known as possible
