Each year, the French Ministry of Armed Forces awards 2 postdoctoral fellowships במסגרת its “Ambassador” programme.
The “Ambassador” programme aims to fund a 12-month stay abroad for a postdoctoral researcher working on a research project focused on security and defence issues, regardless of the academic discipline within humanities and social sciences (geography, economics, political science, law, etc.).
The “Ambassador” programme is scientifically supervised by the Institute for Strategic Research of the Military School (IRSEM), under the authority of the Directorate General for International Relations and Strategy (DGRIS).
This scheme is part of the Higher Education Pact and aims to contribute to strengthening the pool of academic research in the fields of defence and security.

The doctoral programme aims to promote innovative approaches, both in terms of research topics, methodologies, and interdisciplinary dimensions. These grants support early-stage researchers undertaking a PhD on security and defence issues, regardless of the academic discipline in humanities and social sciences.
This programme can fund up to ten grants per year, for a duration of three years.
An application is considered valid only once the applicant has received a confirmation email.
