Set up in 1993, EURES is a co-operation network between the European Commission and the Public Employment Services of the EEA Member States (The EU countries plus Norway, Iceland and Liechtenstein) and other partner organisations. Switzerland also takes part in rhis network co-operation.

EURES objectives are to inform, councel and provide advice to potentially mobile workers on job opportunities and living and working conditions in Europe, to assist employers working to recruit workers from other countries and to provide particular advice and guidance to jobseekers and employers in Crossborder regions.
It relies on a network of more than 850 advisers located throughout Europe providing the three EURES basic services of information, guidance and placement, to both jobseekers and employers.

This portal allows thus, the access to the job vacancies and learning opportunities in 31 European countries, to put your CV on line or to view the available Cvs, as well as to have european labour market information. It represents for example, a database of  1 288 041 job vacancies, 922 337 CVs and 28 393 employers registered (data from August 26, 2012).
