A swiss chemical and biotechnology corporation.

Since 1897, the year Lonza was founded on the banks of the river of the same name in Valais, Switzerland, this chemical and biotechnology corporation has come a long way. Today, it employs over 5,500 people in various parts of the world in one of Lonza’s eight business sectors to produce and market active pharmaceutical ingredients for the agrifood and pharmaceutical industries.

Three R&D departments are established in Europe, the largest of them being based in Visp, in German-speaking Switzerland. This summer, by clicking on the heading “careers@lonza”, then selecting “current job opportunities,” we found offers for German-speaking chemists, the Visp center being specialized in fine chemicals. The Slough facility in Berkshire, southern England, counts over a hundred scientists with more “bio” than chemistry profiles. For PhDs looking for a career abroad.
