Studying in China: An opportunity?

In 2007, China hosted more than 190,000 international students from 188 countries and regions. 5.2% were granted scholarships from the Chinese government.

In 2010, China has planned to offer scholarships to 20,000 foreigners, the double compared to 2007 and to host by 2020, 500 000 international students.
Doctoral scholarships for example, amount to 2,000 yuan (about 240 euros) per month, this year.

China has also signed mutual diploma recognition contracts with 32 countries including Germany, the United Kingdom, France, Australia, New Zealand, Austria and Russia.

Furthermore, The latest report recently published by the Institute of International Education (IEE) shows that for American students, China is becoming one of the most attractive destinations. 
In 2008, the number of American students coming to China to study increased by 25% over 2007.
