The "Careers of Doctorate Holders: Analysis of Labour Market and Mobility Indicators", result of a joint project by the OECD, the UNESCO Institute for Statistics and Eurostat, provides an overview of the key statistical and analytical findings that draw on data from the second international CDH of data collection conducted in 2010 (the first one dated from 2006).25 countries participated in this survey: Belgium, Bulgaria, Croatia, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Hungary, Iceland, Israel, Latvia, Lithuania, Malta, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Russian Federation, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, Turkey, United States.
This paper particularly focuses on the analysis of the labour market and employment patterns of doctorate holders, as well as on two main specificities of this market and this population: the employment in research; the mobility both across sectors and at the international level.
As France did not participate in the CDH project, few data are available in the report relating its situation.
