Seven scholarships of excellence totalling $248,000 to foster research partnerships between universities in Quebec and high-tech companies located in the Campus Saint-Laurent of Technoparc Montréal.
Under the
BMP Innovation Scholarship Program,
Technoparc Montréal has signed on 10 December 2008 a three year agreement with the Fonds québécois de la recherche sur la nature et les technologies (
FQRNT) and the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (
NSERC).
It will allow companies to welcome Master’s and PhD student researchers from Quebec universities to work on corporate R&D projects in conjunction with the students’ thesis requirements.
For example, the annual value of a PhD scholarship is $18,000, to which is added a minimum corporate contribution of $9,000.
