Financial supports for Professors, Assistant Professors and Researchers, as well as for PhD students and postdocs
If you are looking for a postdoc in Canada, the government of this country offers the Post-Doctoral Research Fellowships (PDRF).
To apply, you must have completed a Ph.D. degree within the last four years or have completed your Ph.D. requirements before taking up the award.
Priority will be given to candidates who have not previously studied in Canada under a Canadian government scholarship.
The total value of the fellowship is $32.000 CAN for a duration of one year.
Research Fields: humanities, social sciences, natural sciences and engineering. Deadline for application is November 23, 2009.
If you are a doctoral student, two types of scholarships are available:
- The Doctoral Student Research Awards (DSRA) designed to assist full-time graduate students at degree-granting institutions of higher education, whose dissertations are related in substantial part to Canada, to undertake doctoral research about Canada. Deadline for application is December 12, 2009.
- The Vanier Canada Graduate Scholarships designed to attract world-class doctoral students by offering them a significant financial award to assist them during their studies at Canadian universities.
Vanier Scholars demonstrate leadership skills and a high standard of scholarly achievement in the social sciences and humanities, natural sciences and engineering, and health-related fields.
International students must be nominated by a Canadian university. Applications must be submitted by Canadian universities themselves for November 6, 2009.
Furthermore, an awards programme - Faculty Enrichment Program (FEP), Faculty Research Program (FRP) – is offered to Professors, Assistant Professors and Researchers (humanities and social sciences). Deadline for application is December 12, 2009
