In Lyon is located the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), which is part of the World Health Organization (WHO).

This organization develops programs, particularly in epidemiology, biostatistics, environmental and chemical carcinogenesis, etiology and cancer prevention. While there are no permanent offerings, you can join research teams either as junior or experienced researcher.

1/Postdoctoral positions for one year renewable once are offered to junior researchers with salaries that vary depending on your area of expertise. For instance, 31,860 € for a postdoc in Epidemiology Methods and Support Group and 25,488 € for another in "Genetic Cancer Susceptibility Group."

2/For more experienced researchers, the IARC offers Expertise Transfer Fellowships, which enable researchers to spend from six to twelve months in a host institute in a medium-resource country.
