The Adolphe Pacault Prize

Laurent Cousin

For this year only, the ADERA is awarding 4 prizes, one of which is the Adolphe Pacault Prize for Dissemination, which allocates the sum of 7,000 euros. The final date for entries is February 28, 2009.

The Association for the Development of Teaching and Research within the Universities, Research laboratories and Companies of Aquitaine (ADERA) is funding four prizes in memory of Professor A. Pacault, who passed away on January 18, 2008 at the age of 89.
These four prizes, worth 7,000 euros each, underline the multifaceted nature of the work of one of France's leading physical chemists and an internationally renowned scientist.

- The research prize will be awarded to a young researcher who has made new and vital scientific contributions to physical chemistry.

- The research dissemination prize is aimed at young researchers whose scientific innovations in physical chemistry have resulted in technology transfer.

There is also the popular science prize for an organization that has made outstanding contributions to making scientific culture (physics and chemistry) accessible to the general public. Lastly, the History of Science prize will be awarded to a researcher whose work and research project help shed light on fundamental aspects of the history of science (maths, physics, chemistry, biology).

Applications must be filed no later than February 28, 2009.
