2010 doctoral and post-doctoral grants in the Île-de-France region

Laurent Cousin

Like every year, the Île-de-France regional council has issued calls for projects and applications to award its doctoral (ARDoC and DIM) and post-doctoral grants (Dim).

Doctoral Research Grants in Targeted Areas (ARDoC) are entirely funded by the Île-de-France Region for doctoral research projects carried out in the Region’s doctoral schools.
The Region’s grant recipients will receive a flat monthly net stipend of about 1,450 euros. This salary is contained in the payment of a total amount of 2,700 euros by the Region to the host institution responsible for hiring the young researcher for a 36-month fixed-term contract.

Seven areas are targeted in the framework of this call for proposals:

Sciences and techniques:

 - Mathematics
 - Optics and astrophysics
 - Green chemistry and eco-materials

Human and social sciences:

 - Regional public action and institutions: historical, European and comparative perspectives
 - Territories and disparities, policies for the prevention of and fight against discrimination
 - Peoples and migration: The Île-de-France region in globalization
 - Diversity and regional identity: languages and cultures in Île-de-France.
Closing date: February 12, 2010.
Major Domains of Interest (DIM)
Furthermore, 14 themes identified as Major Domains of Interest (DIM) are entitled to regional funding. The list can be viewed on the Region’s website. The calls for projects are handled directly by third-party organizations such as the Cancéropôle Île-de-France, the Ile de France Cold Atom Research Institute, the Ile de France Research Network for Sustainable Development, etc.
