Ireland offers 50 postdoctoral fellowships to young researchers from all nations. Deadline for application: 26 January, 2007.

The Irish Council for Science, Engineering and Technology (IRCSET) invites applications for research funding under the Government of Ireland's Embark Postdoctoral Fellowship Scheme (2007). The scheme, in its fifth year, will invest over €4.7 million into the Irish research sector. It is open to researchers from all nations who are at an early stage of their postdoctoral research career and who wish to further their research in the sciences, engineering or technology, at an Irish research institution.

Additional places may be made available under IRCSET’s separate Enterprise Partnership Scheme where IRCSET co-funds fellowships with industry partners.

Up to 50 invidivual fellowships will be made available (duration two years). Each fellowship includes €33,000 (plus social insurance contribution) and appropriate expenses up to €5,000 each year. Applications will be subject to assessment, strictly on merit, by an international assessment committee. The terms and conditions are available for download from the IRCSET website.

Applications must be made using the online application system. Closing date: 5:00 pm, 26 January 2007.
