The Multimodal Interaction Group of the Computer Vision and Multimedia Laboratory at the University of Geneva, Switzerland (http://cvml.unige.ch) is hiring a postdoctoral researcher in affective computing. The proposed position is part of a collaborative project between the University of Geneva and the multinational company Logitech (https://www.logitech.com) on the topic of “Emotionally intelligent peripherals for video game streamers and players”.

You will be working in a world-renowned and interdisciplinary environment, part of the Swiss Center for Affective Sciences (www.affective-sciences.ch), with researchers from computer science, psychology and neurosciences. The project will be conducted in close collaboration with Prof. Daphnée Bavelier (www.unige.ch/fapse/brainlearning/).

Poste et missions

Performing research in the domain of the research project on “Emotionally intelligent peripherals for video game streamers and players” and publishing the associated results.

Developing new research activities.

The position might include involvement in teaching activities (both at the Bachelor and Master levels).

We offer a friendly, cooperative environment and a competitive salary. The expected starting date is October 1st, 2019. Minimum duration is 10 months.

Mobilité géographique :



We are looking for an experienced researcher with the following qualifications:

  • PhD in affective computing or a related field;
  • strong background in multimodal signal processing and machine learning;
  • strong practical experience in designing experimental protocols involving physiological signals recording over single and multiple participants, in laboratory and real settings;
  • excellent programing skills;
  • ability to handle requests for ethical approvals;
  • excellent English skills;
  • working knowledge of French is a plus but not mandatory;
  • experience in preparation of national and international project proposals;
  • interest toward video games and activities perpipheral to games.
