Description du sujet

The Enzymology & Metabolism Research Group (LCSB) and IBBL are looking to hire a PhD student as part of the PARK-QC DTU, an interdisciplinary doctoral training unit focusing on ‘Molecular, Organellar and Cellular Quality Control in Parkinson's disease and Other Neurodegenerative Diseases’ and involving several Luxembourgish biomedical research units.

In the collaborative project entitled ‘Search for novel PD biomarkers originating from increased molecular damage and/or deficient molecular quality control systems’, the successful PhD candidate will (establish and) analyse cellular and whole organism models of Parkinson’s disease, as well as PD patient-derived material (e.g. plasma, urine, CSF), applying Crispr/Cas9 technology, imaging-based phenotypic approaches and metabolomics techniques.

Main objectives are to find small molecule disease biomarkers and test small molecule-based therapeutic treatments on the cellular/whole organism models.
