Human Cell Design (HCD) is a small Biotech company founded in 2009 with a high potential of growth. HCD (formerly Univercell-Biosolutions) is specialized on developing new cellular model and assay and providing associated cell culture services for the Pharmaceutical and Biotech industry as well as international academia teams.

HCD works on bringing better therapies to patients faster. At HCD we serve industrials and academic groups by providing unique physiologically and functionally relevant human cell models. Our proprietary Natline® maturation platform support and accelerate drug discovery and scientific progress to better integrate human reality earlier during discovery and development process.

Our leitmotiv is simple: What is better to integrate the human as early as in the initial research phase when you develop a therapeutic approach dedicated to human!

We are building core competency in two areas:

Ø Proprietary Products: HCD has acquired over the years more than 300 customers all over the worlds using its human beta cell of reference Enodc-BH1. Now, HCD launch its last version with significant improvement Endoc-BH5. In parallel, HCD proposes Human Cardiomyocytes and Neurons.

Ø Services activities (Natline® maturation platform, cell assay development and cell cultures Services): HDC has coupled the power of hiPSc reprogramming with its proprietary NatLine® platform to further maturate differentiated cells and provide REAL functional cells close to natives one. Our proof of concept has lead to the generation of the Endoc-BH human cells family. HCD want to develop partnerships with industrial on all relevant human models dedicated to their internal needs using Natline®. HCD also proposes high level cell culture and assay development associated services

We are looking for an upbeat individual with a results-oriented spirit and a proven track record of successful business development to accelerate HCD international activity linked to Endoc-BH5® and Natline® launches. Position is based in Toulouse (France).

The Business Developer function is responsible for building a very well-qualified pipeline for Account Executives – a critical role as we continue to grow at pace and execute flawlessly.
You will be responsible for generating pipeline for expanding our portfolio of large Pharmaceutical companies and Biotechs as well, working closely with the CEO to achieve/exceed opportunity pipeline and revenue quota objectives.


For this role, we are looking for someone with the following experience:

  • Capatiy of understanding of business, how company management makes buying decisions can example to teams the power of understanding influences decision-makers etc.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills and persuasive skills essential — Fluency in French and English will be particularly appreciated,
  • Track record generating in value-based actions (grants, industrial collaborations, customers relation ship), 
  • You’re organized, rigorous, and adaptable to an ever-evolving process and team
  • The ability to demonstrate an aptitude for building lasting relationships with customers
  • Your key assets: Self-motivation, Hustle, a Strong work ethic, and Ownership
  • An understanding of the drug discovery and development paradigm with in depth knowledge of development
  • Critical thinking and creativity
  • Ability to assess client needs and craft recommendations through effective written and oral presentations
  • Technical background coupled with personal sales aptitudes


What will you be delivering?

  • Focus on contacting and qualifying business accounts to achieve/exceed demand generation targets 
  • Developing our Sales  for reaching the HCD annual objectives
  • Grow new business revenue and establish business relationships internationally
  • Develop long term relationships with your clients helping address their needs and challenges
  • Generate high-quality, healthy pipeline
  • Effectively utilize a variety of channels such as social media, website, internet, web-based tools & outbound calling, scientific congress and direct contacts
  • Implement corporate sales and marketing plans
  • Interact with R&D and production to close new business and develop long-term relationships
  • Manage communication and web marketing on HCD website
