Alexander von Humboldt Foundation - AvH
Clarisse Faria-Fortecoëf
Each year, AvH grants up to 500 scholarships to foreign researchers holding a PhD and wanting to spend extended periods of research in Germany.Alexander von Humboldt (AvH) is a non-profit foundation since 1953 working to promote international research cooperation.
So far, this organisation has supported nearly 20000 scientists and integrated them into the world-wide network of the "Humboldt family" (123 associations and clubs in 65 countries), a meeting and an exchange place for former and current fellows and award winners as well as for friends and sponsors of the Foundation.
It is one of the main contacts for foreign researchers of high level.
Whatever your origin and your speciality, whether you are a young postdoctoral researcher at the beginning of your academic career, an experienced, established academic, or even a world authority in your discipline, AvH offers you research fellowships and research awards tailored to your situation and career.
The section “Fellowschips and Awards” on the website www.humboldt-foundation.de/en, allows you to view the various programs available. You can even complete online your application form.
The foundation also has an online magazine, « Humboldt Kosmos », http://foundation.de/kosmos/index.htm. Though in German, some articles are available in English.
