Clarisse Faria-Fortecoëf
Deadline for submission of applications: 18/07/2011 at 13h.
Following the earthquake and tsunami of March 11, 2011 of the Pacific coast of Tokohu in Japan, the French and Japanese research agencies (Agence Nationale de la Recherche, ANR, and Japan Science and Technology agency, JST, respectively) agreed to open a coordinated call for proposals to promote urgent research activity related to this major disaster.
This call is open to any research proposal dealing with the earthquake, the detailed analysis of the event itself and of all its components and consequences, and the lessons to be learnt in terms of prevention, excluding topics related to the nuclear industry and radiation safety.
It is fully open, non thematic: its scope encompasses all fields that have been affected by this giant event.
All scientific fields are acceptable provided they are in close connection with the earthquake and its aftermaths.
Proposals must include at least one French and one Japanese research teams.
On the ANR's website you can find all useful information and download the full text of the call for proposals.
