Topic description

We are seeking a candidate interested in working on a project focusing on green pharmaceutical chemistry at Institut Curie, a laboratory located in Orsay, France.

A PhD fellowship application (3 years) will be filled with selected candidates (deadline: September 10th; result: October 20th). The project involves the synthesis, physicochemical and biological evaluation. The student will re-design a problematic antimicrobial based on our previously reported approach of “retro catabolic drug design” for the programmed fragmentation of transformation products. Analogs will be synthesized and their antimicrobial activity will be evaluated. Transformation of selected analogs in real water matrix by (photo)oxidation, identification and optimization of treatment parameters of the transformation products will be carried out in collaboration.
