Description

Temporary contract | 24 months | Belval Are you passionate about research? So are we! Come and join us

How will you contribute?

The project focuses on the plasma treatment of metallic surfaces for industrial applications. The core objective is to identify the active plasma species and elucidate the underlying reaction mechanisms at the metal–plasma interface. Through a combination of plasma diagnostics (e.g. OES) and surface characterization techniques (FTIR, SIMS, XPS), the project seeks to develop a scientifically grounded, scalable plasma treatment process. The outcome will support the implementation of robust, efficient surface modification solutions in industrial settings.

The postdoctoral researcher will conduct research in the atmospheric plasma treatment of metallic surfaces. The researcher will work closely with the industrial partner to build up a deep understanding on the mechanisms driving the surface modification and develop strategies to implement the process at the industrial scale. The postdoctoral researcher is expected maintain close interactions with the industrial partner and report to them on a biweekly basis. The postdoctoral researcher, integrated to a very engaged and ambitious research team, is expected to develop these research activities to the highest scientific level.
