Host Laboratory

Laboratory : The Anticipe Unit conducts both fundamental and applied research to offer cancer prevention or treatment strategies best adapted to individuals and their environment. In daily interaction with clinicians from the University Hospital and François Baclesse Comprehensive Cancer Center, the unit comprises about a hundred people and two main research axes: "Cancers and Prevention" and "Precision Medicine for Ovarian Cancer." This project is part of the "Precision Medicine for Ovarian Cancer" axis and is a new theme within the unit, involving the THERANOVCA Excellence Chair in innovative theranostic approaches for ovarian cancers and the international partner laboratory RECITAL with the University of Sherbrooke (QC, Canada).

Supervision : Dr. Élie Besserer-Offroy, Assoc. Prof. et Dr. Cécile Pétigny, Assoc. Researcher.

Expertise : Pharmacology of G protein-coupled receptors (GPCRs), Nuclear Medicine and Theranostics, Radioligand Development, Ovarian Cancer, Precision Medicine.

Internship Context

Locally aggressive cancers, especially ovarian cancers, represent major therapeutic challenges requiring the development of new diagnostic and therapeutic strategies. In this context, innovative preclinical models are essential for evaluating the efficacy of new therapeutic molecules.

This internship is part of a research project aimed at developing new theranostic molecules, combining molecular imaging and radioligand therapies (targeted radionuclide therapy). The work carried out during this internship will provide the methodological foundations for a future doctoral project.

Internship Objectives

Main Objective

To develop and optimize innovative tumor models on the chicken chorioallantoic membrane (CAM) for the study of therapeutic targets and the evaluation of new therapeutic strategies in locally aggressive cancers, particularly ovarian cancers.

Specific Objectives

  • Development of in ovo CAM models: Establish standardized protocols for the implantation and follow-up of ovarian tumors on the CAM during embryonic development.

  • Optimization of ex ovo CAM models: Develop ex ovo culture methods allowing better access and longitudinal monitoring of tumors.

  • Characterization of models: Validate tumor growth, vascularization, and expression of relevant therapeutic targets.

  • Evaluation of therapeutic strategies: Conduct preliminary tests of candidate molecules on the developed models.

  • Standardization of protocols: Establish reproducible procedures for future use in the doctoral project.
