InjectPower, a start-up located in Moirans in the Grenoble area, is pioneering the development of next generation microbatteries designed for implantable medical devices. These batteries are produced using advanced thin-film semiconductor manufacturing processes. We are actively incorporating machine learning tools to enable efficient and large-scale data analysis, driving advancements in both performance and reliability.
Description
We are looking for an intern to contribute to a computer vision and image processing project. The focus of the work will be on developing a Python package for the analysis of optical microscopy images of microbatteries on wafers. The ideal candidate should have a strong interest in computer vision and image analysis. The role will involve benchmarking various image analysis techniques, such as image classification with bounding boxes, semantic segmentation, and classical image processing methods, to determine the most effective solutions for our applications.
A significant focus will be placed on rigorous model validation to ensure the quality and reliability of results. In addition to evaluation metrics, the project aims to integrate tools that enhance model interpretability and uncertainty quantification.
Other responsibilities include collecting and preprocessing image datasets (e.g., annotation, image augmentation) and contributing to the development of the Python package for image analysis.
Profile
Applicants should be pursuing a master’s degree at an engineering school or university, specializing in computer science, applied mathematics, or artificial intelligence, and seeking an internship as part of their degree requirements.
Preferred skills and qualifications:
- Python programming skills
- Knowledge of machine learning frameworks (e.g., TensorFlow, PyTorch, Scikit-learn…)
- Experience with image processing and computer vision libraries (e.g., OpenCV)
- Familiarity with Linux environments for computational tasks
- Acquaintance with software development workflows, including version control systems (e.g., Git) and proper documentation practices
