Senior Mechanical Engineer – Full-time, Onsite

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the mechanical architecture and detailed design for complex gas system and hydrogen products: enclosures, mechanisms, mounting strategies, thermal management, sealing, coolant and electronic materials, and EMC-aware mechanical layout.
  • Conduct and contribute to Failure Modes and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to identify design risks and opportunities for improvement in design of generators.
  • Select materials and processes (injection molding, sheet metal, die casting, machining, 3D printing) aligned with durability, regulatory, and supply-chain constraints.
  • Optimize designs for manufacturability, focusing on Bill of material cost and cost-effectiveness.
  • Plan and execute Validation and Verification for mechanical systems: test strategies, protocols, fixtures, and gas systems; support environmental testing (vibration, shock, thermal).
  • Ensure stable mechanical design for transportation and lifting, including center-of-gravity control and structural integrity
  • Collaborate closely with fuel cell  engineers, electrical engineers, software developers, system integration engineers and production teams to ensure integration of mechanical systems.
  • Collaborate with suppliers and manufacturing partners to evaluate design feasibility, resolve technical challenges, and facilitate scalable production.

Profile

Essential Skills/Experience/Requirements

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • 5+ years of relevant work experience in mechanical engineering and manufacturing environments.
  • Proven experience in design for manufacturing (DFM) and its application in product development is required.
  • Proficiency with CAD tools (e.g., SolidWorks, AutoCAD, CATIA).
  • Solid understanding of mechanical design principles, materials, and various manufacturing techniques.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple tasks and projects independently and drive results under deadlines.
  • Practical, hands-on skills in assembly, prototyping, and mechanical troubleshooting.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Fluent in written and spoken English.

Advantageous Skills/Experience

  • Experience working with fuel cells, heat exchangers, electrolysers, or battery technologies.
  • Familiarity with mechanical and thermal FEA simulations.
  • A strong interest in sustainable energy technologies.
