How will you contribute?

As a key member of the project, you will be responsible for a range of critical tasks that will shape the project’s success:

  • Localization of malicious payloads: you will develop a multi-layer localization framework that can automatically localize malicious behaviors implemented in Smali code.
  • Adversarial attack development: you will design and implement adversarial attacks by manipulating localized malicious payloads against malware detection models.
  • Robustness evaluation framework: you will develop comprehensive assessment methodologies to quantify the weaknesses and limitations of malware detection models.
  • Countermeasures: you will develop targeted countermeasures to mitigate detection failures and adversarial attacks.
  • Pipeline development: you will implement a unified pipeline for interactive improvements of malware detection models based on real-world feedback and evolving threats.

Education

  • PhD in Computer Science with a focus on AI and/or cybersecurity

Experience and skills

  • 1-2 years of post-PhD research and engineering experience in AI for mobile security
  • Solid knowledge in adversarial machine learning or trustworthy AI, including experience with robustness assessment and attack/defense mechanisms.
  • Hands-on experience with Android malware detection and reverse engineering
  • Experience with explainable AI (XAI) techniques (LIME, SHAP, attention mechanisms, etc.)
  • Proven research record with publications in relevant venues (AI, security, and software engineering conferences/journals)
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with capacity to conduct independent research and deliver results in a timely manner
  • Effective communication and collaboration skills, with ability to work in an interdisciplinary team and contribute to project documentation

Language skills

  • Fluency in English (both oral and written). Other relevant languages are considered to be an asset.
