Description

Temporary contract | 24 months | Belval

Are you passionate about research? So are we! Come and join us

How will you contribute?

We are seeking a highly motivated postdoctoral researcher to join the Distributed and Intelligent Connectivity (DISCO) research group. DISCO is a multidisciplinary team dedicated to building the next generation of intelligent, distributed, and programmable connectivity systems. The successful candidate will conduct research at the intersection of AI and networking, contributing to advanced architectures and intelligent, sustainable connectivity solutions for 6G and beyond.

You will work primarily on exploring the use of unlicensed spectrum to enable intelligent, energy-efficient and reliable 6G connectivity in industrial environments. More specifically, you will be in charge of:

  • Conducting advanced research on next‑generation wireless networks, with a focus on high‑performance and reliable communication over unlicensed spectrum.
  • Designing and evaluating adaptive Medium Access Control (MAC) and network‑layer protocols to enhance performance in shared spectrum environments.
  • Developing AI‑driven methods for real‑time interference prediction and adaptive network behaviour.
  • Exploring multi‑technology (multi‑RAT) integration of emerging wireless systems (e.g. Wi‑Fi 6E/7/8, Ultra‑Wide Band) to support ultra‑reliable, low‑latency, and massive IoT services.
  • Implementing energy‑efficient and sustainable networking solutions for Industry 5.0 environments.
  • Publishing results in high‑impact journals and conferences and contributing to collaborative research activities within the team.
  • Supporting or leading the preparation and development of new project proposals.
  • Supporting knowledge transfer and demonstration of developed solutions in real or simulated industrial scenarios.
