Topic description

The integration of additive manufacturing processes (DED – Directed Energy Deposition) in the production of landing gear components made of ultra-high strength steel (UHSS – Rm > 1930 MPa) represents a strategic technological breakthrough for the aeronautics industry. This project aims to develop and validate multi-scale characterisation methodologies and mechanical modelling approaches tailored to the intrinsic heterogeneity of UHSS produced via DED, with the ultimate goal of designing and sizing complex structural components.
