How will you contribute?
You will be mainly in charge of:
- Supporting research activities on novel hybrid and high-performance fibre‑reinforced polymer composites
- Fabricate fibre‑reinforced composites using recycled and/or reclaimed fibres/materials.
- Investigate and report process–structure–property relationships of fabricated composite materials.
- Perform mechanical and thermal characterization of composites (tensile, flexural, TGA, DSC, DMA and related tests).
- Analyse test data and prepare, e.g., statistical and graphical analysis

Education
- Hold/study towards a bachelor’s or master’s degree in mechanical engineering, material science, but with a focus on polymer engineering and science, or related discipline focused on fibres, technical textiles and polymeric composites
Experience and skills
- Curiosity and enthusiasm for materials science and experimental research
- Basic skills/knowledge on the mechanics of materials, polymeric materials, chemistry (coursework) is an advantage
- Basic knowledge in thermal and mechanical testing of fibres and composites is an advantage
- Ability to analyse experimental data, conduct research, and communicate scientific results
- Self-motivation and eagerness to learn in a hands-on research environment
- Proactive attitude toward problem-solving
- Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team
Language skills
- Fluency in English, both oral and written. French and/or German are an asset.
