Polonium : Franco-Polish program to support researchers' mobility

The Partenariat Hubert Curien (PHC) - Polonium 2023 - aims to develop scientific and technological exchanges between Polish and French research laboratories, by encouraging new cooperation, the involvement of young researchers and PhD candidates, and by opening up prospects for the development of projects towards European projects. The deadline for applications is June 30, 2022.

Polonium is the Partenariat Hubert Curien (PHC)  set up in Poland by the National Agency for Academic Exchange (Narodowa Agencja Wymiany Akademickiej - NAWA) and in France by the Ministries of Europe and Foreign Affairs (MEAE) and of Higher Education, Research and Innovation (MESRI).

Terms and conditions

  • The call for applications is open to full researchers from research laboratories attached to higher education organizations and research institutions;
  • Companies can participate in the project, as long as they are associated with an academic partner;
  • All scientific fields are concerned, including the Humanities and Social Sciences. Particular attention will be paid to projects whose themes correspond to the priorities of the Franco-Polish Strategic Partnership and the European Framework Programme for Research and Innovation "Horizon Europe";
  • Projects that have already been funded under this program are not eligible for reapplication immediately after completion.
  • Among the selection criteria: the integration of young researchers (PhD candidates and postdoctoral fellows) in the project. 
  • Only applications co-submitted by the research partners in their respective countries are accepted.

Mission and funding

  • Funding is granted on an annual basis, for two consecutive years;
  • The funding only covers the mobility of researchers between the two countries;
  • Funding support from France covers stay (€125/day) and travels (reimbursement on actual expenses up to a limit of €550 per France-Poland round-trip) allowances of involved researchers.
The final deadline for application is June 30, 2022.
