The American Association of University Women (AAUW) International Fellowships
AAUW international fellowships aims to support women pursuing full-time graduate or postdoctoral study in the United States, who are not U.S. citizens, and who intend to return to their home country to pursue a professional career. The deadline for applications is November 15, 2024.

The American Association of University Women (AAUW) International Fellowship was established in 1917. The program provides support for women pursuing full-time graduate or postdoctoral study in the United States to women who are not U.S. citizens or permanent residents, and who intend to return to their home country to pursue a professional career. Candidates are selected for academic achievement and demonstrated commitment to women and girls.
Fellows return to their home countries to become leaders in business, government, academia, community activism, the arts or scientific fields.
Terms and conditions
- The program is open to women, including people who identify as women;
- Candidates must be citizens of a country other than the U.S . Dual citizen with the U.S. and another country are not eligible;
- Candidates must have obtained the equivalent of a U.S. bachelor’s degree at the time of application;
- Both graduate and postgraduate studies at accredited U.S. institutions are supported;
- All scientific fields are concerned.
Mission and funding

Funding amount: Master’s/first professional degree : $20,000 / Doctoral: $25,000 / Postdoctoral: $50,000
- Fellowship funds are available for educational & living expenses, dependent childcare, travel to professional meetings, conferences or seminars.
