CINECA : An Interuniversity Consortium

Made up of 31 Italian universities, the CNR (National Research Council), and the Ministry of University and Research (MUR), CINECA develops advanced applications and services in the Information Technology area : supercomputing and scientific computing, operating systems, networks and Web based services, programming.

The activities of CINECA can be subdivided into two large sectors, one aimed at institutional organisations and the other, more generally, relative to the services linked to technological transfer.CINECA designs tools and technologies aimed at solving specific problems for universities and public research agencies.

Furthermore, it supplies advanced services to Public Administration and businesses, analysing their needs and offering specific solutions for the different problems.CINECA is one of Italy's main representatives in European Union projects, participating in numerous activities related to the promotion, development and diffusion of the most advanced information technologies.

On the CINECA website, it is possible to make a research on the research projects, the scholarships, the training courses, the employment opportunities, as well as to fill up a CV on line (heading “Lavoro”). The CV will be preserved in the CINECA data base during one year. It is also possible to send on line, a spontaneous candidature.
