Program, registration, contact
ABG is launching a call for applications for candidates from France and Germany.
- You are doing your PhD program in France or in Germany (PhD candidates doing a joint PhD with one of the three countries, or funded by the FGU, or doing an industrial PhD are eligible),
- or you are a PhD holder who is unemployed or on a short term contract and who graduated less than 6 months before the workshop from an institution in France?
Send your application now (limited number of places)!
Application is open until October 15, 2023!
NB: participants from Luxembourg and the Trier University (Germany) are subject to a different schedule. Please refer to contacts in your institutions (see "Call for applications").
About the program
PhD candidates and early-career researchers are often unaware of career opportunities outside academia. This cross-border career workshop (France, Germany, and Luxembourg) will cover various stages of career planning and of the recruitment process. Participants will be able to review their work history, identify and market their different skills, as well as tailor CVs and cover letters to the economic sector. The three-day interactive workshop, held in English, will enable participants to broaden their international network, to learn different cultural practices in recruitment processes and, moreover, to get advice from professionals working in the non-academic sector during the virtual round table.
>>> Are you currently doing a PhD in France, Germany or Luxembourg or in the framework of a joint program with one of these three countries? Have you just obtained your PhD and are you looking for a job in one of these three countries after your PhD?
Be part of this new online edition of “PhD, what comes next?”, the cross-border career workshop for PhD candidates that will be organized on December 6 to 8, 2023 by ABG, the French-German University, the Luxembourg National Research Funds (FNR), the Luxembourg Institute of Health (LIH), the Luxembourg Institute for Socio-Economic Research (LISER), the Luxembourg Institute of Science and Technology (LIST), the University of Luxembourg and the University of Trier.
It’s the perfect opportunity to (finally) take some time to think about your professional identity, your wishes, to understand the recruitment process and recruiters’ expectations in different countries, to discover a new career path and develop your network by meeting professionals…
