Description du sujet
INNOCAPS aims to transform the cosmetics industry by developing innovative and environmentally friendly encapsulation systems. The project seeks to create tiny capsules made from natural polymers to effectively protect and release sensitive active ingredients, such as vitamin E. This approach helps improve the performance of cosmetic products, extend their shelf life and reduce their environmental impact. In the first phase, INNOCAPS develops an original technology that enables these capsules to be produced in water,
without heating and without a drying step. This method significantly reduces energy consumption and carbon footprint while allowing direct incorporation into cosmetic formulations. The capsules retain key properties, such as protection against oxidation and microbial contamination, while ensuring good long-term stability. The second phase of the project explores how these capsules interact with other cosmetic ingredients. In particular, they could replace part of the water traditionally used in formulations, contributing to more sustainable and functional products. Their behavior will be studied in various product types,
such as creams and gels. Finally, the last phase focuses on the controlled release of the encapsulated active ingredients under real-use conditions on the skin. Human skin models will be used to assess the effectiveness of active delivery while preserving their performance.
