Établissement recruteur

This six-month Master’s internship is avaible imediately  at the LIA (Computer Science) Lab of Avignon University, located in the picturesque city of Avignon, in the south of France.

The Master’s intern will be co-supervised by two researchers at LIA – Laboratoire Informatique d’Avignon and UMR ESPACE, specializing respectively in resilient network optimization and geography. This interdisciplinary collaboration offers a unique opportunity to work at the intersection of networking and geographic risk analysis.

The internship will take place at either the LIA or UMR ESPACE laboratory, with regular visits to both laboratories throughout the project. Both labs are located in the city of Avignon in the south of France. The selected candidate will receive a standard internship stipend of approximately €600 per month, in accordance with French internship regulations.

Description

A 6-month Master 2 or final-year engineering internship is available at the LIA – Laboratoire Informatique d’Avignon in the south of France. The internship focuses on an emerging networking topic: Risk Zoning and Resilient Routing for Urban Elastic Optical Inter Data-Center Networks (EO-DCNs).

The objective is to enhance the resilience of EO-DCNs against natural disasters such as floods and earthquakes. The work will address two main challenges: (i) identifying disaster-prone areas using advanced approaches based on machine learning and large language models, and (ii) designing resilient and resource-efficient routing strategies to reduce service disruption and data loss. The internship will also explore proactive protection mechanisms and optimization techniques such as integer linear programming and heuristics.
