Description

Candidate for Year 2 Master studies in France in 2026-2027 - Biomedical sciences and bioengineering // Space Physiology

We are looking for a highly motivated and academically excellent student who has completed or will complete her/his 1st year of master's studies before August 2026 and who:

- has a passion for space physiology/space biology (studying the adaptation of the organism to microgravity conditions)

- has an excellent academic record

- is interested to enroll in the second year of master's studies at the University Jean Monnet in Saint-Etienne, France (courses primarily in French) for the 2026-2027 year, Ingénierie de la Santé, i-Santé, with an internship on adaptations of the skeleton to microgravity, to be carried out with Dr. Strigini and Dr. Vico at the SAINBIOSE-LBTO laboratory:

- is interested in later pursuing a PhD project in space physiology

- has a B2 level (or higher) for both French and English language (good written and oral communication skills in French and English)

- is not a French national and is not currently living in France

- is willing to apply to the "bourses d'excellence Eiffel" programme, which would then cover up to 12 months of study in France (1200 euros/month)

 

Profil

The candidate :

- is an academically excellent student, who has completed or will complete her/his 1st year of master's in biology, physiology, bioengineering, biomedical sciences or related topics before August 2026

- is not a French citizen and has not her/his current residence in France

- has a passion for space physiology/space biology (the study of how organisms adapt to microgravity conditions)

- is interested in later pursuing a PhD project in space physiology

- has good/very good language skills in both French and English, written and oral (B2 level or higher)

- is willing to apply for a scholarship from the "bourses d'excellence Eiffel" programme (deadline in December 2025) of the French government (1200 euros/month, for up to 12 months)

Please note it may possible to already carry out a short two-month internship in the host laboratory in the current academic year, i.e. in spring/summer 2026 (sainbiose-lab). Funding available if certain requirements are met.
